Why Do You Blog?

Why do you blog?As a blogger, how much time do you spend a day sitting in front of your pc doing blogging related work? By blogging related work, I am referring to blogging, reading other blogs, researching for blogging materials, reading and answering comments, the checking of various statistics and email correspondences related to blogging.

 

After reading some blogs out there, I verily believe that many bloggers actually work hard to build their blogs to what they are today. To say that it is an easy task is to greatly exaggerate the truth and in a way, works as a mysterious factor to get other people to read more. Much like claims touting how easy it is to make money, everyone knows that nothing falls on your lap without hard work. Even making money from google adsense is not easy contrary to what some people say.

 

So, I am really keen to see what amount of time and effort you invest in blogging. It would be a good reflective exercise because at the end of the day, you can measure yourself to a certain extent whether the amount of time spent is proportionate to your aim in blogging vis a vis the other parts of your life.

 

This is what I am inviting you to do. Write a blog post answering the following questions:-

  1. Why do you blog?
  2. What do you hope to achieve by blogging?
  3. How much time do you spend a day doing blogging related work (as described above)?

 

After you have posted your blog entry, submit your post url to me and I will compile them. A few days after the closing date, I will put up a central post where I will give my own answers to the above questions and will also highlight the links submitted.

 

Submissions begin now and closing date will be 30th November, 2007. If you have any problems with the submission form, do let me know by leaving a comment below.

    Thanks to those who have submitted so far. I have Helen, Ed, Darkwolf and ParisB’s submissions in. Except for Darkwolf, the rest of the submissions came in through the form.
