If the Ad does not work, discard it

I have placed AuctionAds on this site for 3 months and the statistics are depressing enough within only 1 click during the whole period. Moreover, I get kinda irritated when the ads do not load up fast enough and causes this site to have a longer loading period. The ads might not load fast enough because the server where the ad is hosted may be down or experiencing heavy traffic.

Somehow, when ads do not perform as well as what the advertisers tout themselves to be, it may be time to just discard it. Spring cleaning of a blog is essential to rid of clutter. Unless your blog is spartan clean, of course. I always try to put myself in my reader’s shoes and see how much they could put up with this blog of mine. Having ads on a blog may be a good source of income to the blogger but it is important to bear in mind that when an ad does not load quickly enough or at all, especially when that ad is supposed to be one of the first items to be loaded on the site, this results in the web site appearing to be “hanging” and or having a long download time. Nothing irritates readers more than this.

Similarly, when bloggers choose to have a “premium” ad appearing as one of the first items to be loaded on a site, it is important to check periodically that the ad loads fast. Afterall, readers come to your site primarily to read contents, not to read advertisements. One should protect the contents and give instant access to the contents than to give priority to advertisements.

Anyway, off with AuctionAds. If it works for you, congratulations. It did not work for me and I am not at all keen to continue. Rather, I think I would rather promote Aaron Wall’s SEO Book instead. After all, I learnt much from his blog and probably that is one of the reasons why my Delicious Asian Food blog ranked in the Top 10 Famous Asian Food Bloggers.

    Hi Pablo… I never noticed this blog loading slowly. However your Whatever blog loads quite slowly. By the way you are right, the Firefly NuffNang ad does look very suitable for your blog theme!
